How selling works from Ireland

  1. Send the details. Fill in the form with the registration, a few details and some photos. Put the Eircode where the truck is parked in the postcode box, and the CVRT expiry date in the MOT box.
  2. Get our offer. We come back to you with a price, in euro or sterling.
  3. Inspection and payment. Once we’ve inspected the truck and agreed the final price, we pay the same day.
  4. Collection. We arrange collection from wherever the truck is.

The paperwork

Have the Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC) ready, along with the Certificate of Roadworthiness from the truck’s last CVRT if it has one. When a truck is sold to a buyer outside the State, the change of owner is handled as an export rather than a normal transfer: you give the buyer the original VRC, and send a copy with the buyer’s name and address to the Department of Transport in Shannon. We’ll take you through it when we agree the sale.

What do I put in the MOT box?

Put the expiry date from the truck’s last CVRT, still often called the DOE test. If it’s out of test, tick No MOT.

Can I use my Eircode?

Yes. Type the Eircode where the truck is parked into the postcode box, for example A65 F4E2.
