Older Scanias

4-series trucks (94, 114, 124, 144 and 164), the earlier P, G and R models, and Streamline units. Older Scanias are strong sellers for export.

What affects a Scania’s value

  • Engine: the five and six-cylinder engines and especially the V8s, which carry a premium
  • Gearbox: Opticruise automated, or manual with or without a retarder
  • Cab type: CP, CG, CR or CS cabs, plus roof height and interior condition
  • Axle layout and suspension: 6x2 midlift, 6x4 and 8x4 trucks suit different buyers
  • Corrosion and history: a Scania that has been looked after is worth more
