The fridge unit matters
A fridge truck is really two machines, so we price the refrigeration separately from the truck:
- Make and model of the unit: for example Carrier or Thermo King
- Engine hours on the fridge, and whether it has electric standby
- Box insulation: damage, floor condition and door seals
- Temperature records and any servicing history
Fridge not working?
We still buy it. Many refrigerated trucks are sold on because the fridge needs expensive work. The box and chassis still have value, and so does the unit for parts. Tell us the fault and we’ll price it accordingly.

Do you buy a fridge truck if the fridge unit has failed?
Yes. A failed unit lowers the price, but the truck and the insulated box still have value, and the unit may be worth repairing or using for parts. Tell us what it’s doing, or any fault code on the controller, if you know.
Do you buy multi-temperature fridges?
Yes. Tell us how many compartments it has, how they’re split, and whether the bulkheads are fixed or movable.
Do the fridge unit’s hours matter?
Yes. Many fridge units on rigid trucks have their own small diesel engine, and its running hours show how hard the unit has worked, separately from the truck’s mileage. You’ll find them on the unit’s controller.
