Why export buyers want older UK trucks

Here, older trucks lose value fast because of emissions rules, low emission zones and operator expectations. Abroad, the picture is different. Many export markets value strong, simple trucks that can be repaired locally, and they don’t need the latest emissions technology. That means a truck that’s close to worthless in the UK can still be worth real money to us.

  • Eight-wheel and six-wheel tippers, especially double-drive trucks
  • Tractor units with strong engines and manual or simple automated gearboxes
