Central Belt, North East and the Highlands
Most of Scotland’s haulage runs along the M8, M74, M80 and M9, with distribution centred on Glasgow, Eurocentral in North Lanarkshire and the edge of Edinburgh. Grangemouth is Scotland’s biggest container port. Further north, the A9 and A90 carry timber, livestock, fish and food from the Highlands and the North East, where Aberdeen’s energy industry and the fishing ports of Peterhead and Fraserburgh keep fridges, flatbeds and tankers working. Quarries and forestry right across the country mean plenty of tippers and timber lorries too.
Low Emission Zones
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee all run Low Emission Zones. Lorries that don’t meet Euro VI get a penalty charge if they enter, and the penalties double for repeat offences. A truck that can no longer work in the cities is still wanted elsewhere and abroad. See selling a Euro 5 truck.

Questions sellers ask
Anything else? Call or WhatsApp us on 07402 295831.
Will you buy a truck that can’t enter Glasgow or Edinburgh’s Low Emission Zone?
Yes. Lorries that don’t meet Euro VI get penalty charges in the Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee zones, but they’re still wanted outside the cities and abroad.
Do you buy trucks in the Highlands?
Yes. We buy across the Highlands, from Inverness and Fort William to Caithness and Sutherland, including timber lorries, tippers and livestock trucks.
Do you buy trucks on the islands?
Yes. Collection from the islands needs a ferry crossing, so tell us where the truck is and we’ll plan it with you before we agree the price.
Is the paperwork any different in Scotland?
No. Scottish trucks have the same V5C logbook, and you tell DVLA about the sale just as you would anywhere else in Great Britain. See our paperwork guide.
