The shot list
Our form takes up to 10 photos. If you can, include these:
- Front three-quarter view: the front and one side in one shot
- Rear three-quarter view from the opposite corner
- Driver’s side, full length
- Passenger side, full length
- Dashboard with the ignition on, showing the mileage and any warning lights
- Cab interior: seats, bunk and dash
- The body or equipment: tipper body, crane, grab, fridge unit or tail lift
- Tyres: a close-up showing tread on the drive axle
- Chassis: a shot along the chassis rail, especially on older trucks
- Any damage, close up
Tips for better photos
- Shoot in daylight, with the sun behind you rather than behind the truck
- Hold the phone sideways (landscape) for the full-length shots
- Wipe the lens. Phone lenses in a yard pick up grime fast
- Stand far enough back to get the whole truck in
- Don’t use filters or edit the photos
Show the damage
It’s tempting to leave the bad bits out, but damage will be found at inspection, and a price that has to come down at the last minute helps nobody. Photograph the damage clearly and your first offer will be much closer to the final price.
Got moving parts? Send a video
For grabs, cranes, skip loaders, tippers and tail lifts, a 30-second video of the equipment working tells us more than any photo. Send it on WhatsApp to 07402 295831 with your registration.
Our form shrinks your photos before sending, so they upload quickly even on weak signal in the yard.
